Enter a receipt against a client invoice

From the·tabs above the Ribbon, select Bookkeeping > Cash Posting > Sales Ledger Receipts.
You can also access this area from the Debtors ledger icon on the Ribbon and from the Bills tab within a Client record. -
In the Sales Ledger window, click the Receipts option from the Ribbon.

In the Receipt window, from the Company drop down list, select the company to whom the receipt is to be paid. The options in the Account drop down list automatically update according to the company selected.

Select the ellipsis from the Client box to search for your client:

Enter the Date of the receipt by selecting from the drop down calendar. The default date is the current date.

You have the option to enter the Receipt Number and a brief Description for the receipt.

Enter the full amount of the receipt.

Select the Style of the receipt for printing, if there is more than one available.

Enter the amount in the Allocate column against the invoice that has been paid.
You can double click into the Allocate column to populate to full amount of the receipt

Click Post to update the allocation to the database.
The Posting message appears. -
Click Yes to continue the posting, or No to cancel and return to the Receipt window.

The receipt is successfully posted and the updated figures are shown on the Receipt window.
