Logging On
This section provides guidance on how to successfully log into the Backup and Restore Utility.
Login to SQL Server/Express
- Double click the MSDEUtil desktop icon to launch the Backup and Restore application. (for instructions on how to create the desktop icon see Troubleshooting)
2. In the Login to SQL Server/Express window, choose the SQL Instance to be accessed from the drop-down list and click OK to open the CCH Backup and Restore Utility.
When you have logged in, the CCH Backup and Restore Utility functionality allows you to:
- Restore a database
- Schedule backups
- Perform an 'on demand' database backup
- Create the Central user
- Manage the Service Setup
You must have administrator rights to the PC for the Backup and Restore Utility to function correctly.
