Installation Project and Planning Checklist
Installation Project
This document outlines the strategies and practices to be considered for a successful installation. While a installation invariably involves specific steps, certain 'types' of installation may necessitate additional steps that are pertinent to those particular circumstances or require greater attention.
For this project your installation type and Deployment considerations are :-
- Type 1 On-Premises server(s)
- Type 2 Cloud Server(s)

Installation Planning Checklist
The following checklist will serve as a guide for the key steps of a successful installation: |
Your installation style The chosen installation style will dictate the approach and the task list needed for completion. This will influence the project timeline and will crucially determine the level of involvement required from your organisation, Managed Service Providers (MSP), and Wolters Kluwer (WKTAA). |
Your timescales to completion It is important to ascertain whether there is a fixed timescale or deadline that must be adhered to. Establishing this and working backwards to allocate adequate time will ensure the project's success. |
Your phased approach Consider if a test phase is necessary for your project, allowing your teams to verify the system prior to the final installation and “Go-Live” date . |
Your project stakeholders Stakeholders may consist of individuals, groups, or organisations relevant to your requirements. |
Your stakeholder responsibilities The expectations, project objectives, and responsibilities of stakeholders should be clearly defined and communicated. |
Your security and communications Evaluate your domain , security software, firewall policies, internet access, and overall data security — both in the present and as you implement your new solution. |
Your data volumes Assess the sizing for Microsoft SQL Database and non-SQL data, along with backup times. |
Completion of new Server(s) specification and build Ensure that the new system to which you will complete the installation has adequate specifications to support your current needs and the flexibility to adapt to peaks in workload. |
CCH Suite focus A specific focus will be necessary on the CCH software you will use daily, as well as any archival systems. This focus will encompass all the aforementioned points, along with: - Confirmation of CCH pre-installation steps |
