Software Enhancements

Creation of practice master packs

The master pack merge and the create master pack routines have been updated to provide more flexibility for firms when trying to customise their master packs.

Master pack merge routine

The criteria of when a master pack can use the master pack merge routine have been updated so that it is now no longer possible to skip master pack versions when using the merge routine.

It will no longer be possible to use the merge routine to create a new master pack based on 14.001 as the 13.001 master pack was not created. If the merge routine is not required a new version 14.001 can be created and updated as required without using the merge routine

In the above scenario to use the merge routine master pack 14 should be removed and then the merge routine can be used to create version 13.001 before creating 14.001.

Creation of a new master pack

The restrictions around the creation of a new master pack have been relaxed. Previously it was not possible to create a new master pack as a practice level master pack already existed, the user was forced to use the merge routine to create the next local version, this restriction has now been removed and firms can now create a new master pack based on the default master pack.

Quality Improvements

ITS/66638 - Software freezing when creating a new area

Previously when creating a new area at a client level the software would sometimes freeze and become unresponsive. This issue has been resolved.

ITS/66634 - Opening excel documents

Previously when opening excel documents a second copy of the document was saved in the user documents area. This issue has been resolved.

Copy pack routine

The client backup and restore routines have been updated to include key accounting estimates, lead schedule annotations and client level mapping files.

Area risk assessment

The reports under the area risk assessment have been updated to include the new risk model options for master packs using the updated ISA 315 updated risk models.

Key accounting estimates

Key accounting estimates will now correctly open when accessed from the current audit file.

Document opening

In some circumstances a second user was able to checkout and work on a document that was already checked out by another user. The software will now show a warning  to the user alerting them to this fact as they will not be able to check in any changes they make to the document.

Document review and deletion

It is no longer possible for a user with a lower level system access to be able to delete a documet that have been mark and reviewed, e.g a senior can no longer delete a document if it has been marked as reviewed by a manager or partner.
