CCH Audit Automation (SQL) - Known Issues

Last update: 16 Sep 2022

Date Raised ITS Description Workaround (if applicable) Scheduled
/Resolved
May 2023 66656 Upgraded to 2023.100 the client list appears as normal and then resizes the window and zooms out the text. Once the windows is set to full size again the font size is really small ie it remains zoomed out, even when in the client

Recommendation is to set the display to 100% and the display resolution to 1680 x 1050.

If this does not work may be take a look at the KB article below to see if it helps at all.

Feb 2023 66565 Data conversion from BDE to SQL crashes when converting a document with Pivot tables The workaround is to remove the document before conversion N/A
Feb 2023 66553 In this scenario;
The user has balanced forward a client and changed the master pack from IMER17 to 18. Then some of the documents (not all - and any doc type like Word, Excel or PDF) cannot be accessible on the current year with the error;

Access violation at address 11EF4390. Read of address 00000000.

Previous year documents are accessible

Run a query to check if there's document on Central database, but script returns the result with these document references and names

Check out not possible with some error;

2023-02-01 09:48:43,805 [1] ERROR AuditAutomation.COM.AuditAutomationExport - CheckOutDocument failed:
System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
at CCH.DM.Gateway.Importers.DMFacade.CheckOutDocument(String filepath, Int32 contactId, Int32 docId)
at AuditAutomation.COM.AuditAutomationExport.CheckOutDocument(String fileName, Int32 contactId, Int32 documentId)

It looks like that when balancing forward, document metadata was copied from previous year but document itself was not copied

The work around is to delete the current period and roll forward again TBC

Issue with risk mitigation tests in identified risk

In Identified audit risks – if you select a risk and go to the Residual risk covered by sampling box at the bottom, there are no tests listed.

However if you click on pool the test you want it is already ticked and the tick box is greyed out and you can’t add it.
There are also other tests already ticked and if you wish to remove them you can’t either.
So if there’s no other test you wish to add than the ones already ticked you get a waning that no procedures have been selected.
If you go to risk mitigation tests in the current audit file, these tests are there.

There is a work around to remove the partly linked work programme; from the main identified risks window, highlight the risk (but not clicking into it), select "work programme" at the bottom, then remove the linked tests.
Then click into a specific risk, select residual risk covered by sampling, then click work programme from within the specific risk window. After re-linking the desired tests, the system should now properly recognise the programmes selected

Feb 2023 66546 On the main index clicking on Key Accounting Estimates data base opens Idenitfied audit risk database
Another way to access this is from Planning > Risk Analysis > KAE - this works on MERCHA16

Feb 2023 66543 Cannot sign off planning as getting error "No procedures planned for Risk X: [name of risk ] Control Risk, but control risk is set to N/A There is a workaround to fix the issue.
  • The user with the MNGR account must logon to AA
  • Change the System Options settings.
  • Untick the Assess risk level on identified risks.
  • The user can sign off all the clients in the new MP which had the issue.

Note: The user need to revert the tick box, once the plannings have been signed off.

This seems to occur when one updates the master pack from IMER17 to IMER18.
Not only is one unable to add a selected test from the Pool to a Key Accounting Estimate but the Pool seem corrupted with no numbering in the test.
The error message that appears is:

---------------------------
CCH Audit Automation
---------------------------
The statement has been terminated.

Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'TestLevel', table 'Central.AA.AccountingPeriodPoolTestHierarchy'; column does not allow nulls. INSERT fails.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

The work around is to use ADD button on the Pool of Tests dialog to create a test

Script fix available 2024.1

A script exists to resolve this issue. This script removes the word Partner from the newly added Second Partner Review area in the master pack

Travelling from audit will result in the following error:

clipboard_e1ef1177a90cf0480ef85a34798df553c.png

The plugin required to load the client data for travelling is being loaded at the point that travelling is started. It is taking several minutes to load the plugin before travelling can place. After trying to travel for the first time waiting for the plugin to load and then trying to retravel will resolve the issue.

Alternatively traveling the client from central instead. Once travelled you will be able to access the client data via logging into audit in the normal way.

    When importing a TB from CCH Accounts Production to CCH Audit Automation (SQL) by 'Update from CCH Accounts' option at Data Entry tab - only the current TB is available and the previous year TB is not imported. If you can find only current year TB and you cannot find prior year TB, then please export the TB file as a .csv file and import it into CCH Audit Automation (SQL).
    Why is there a ? sign instead of the £ sign in my lead schedule? To fix this please load the client and go to File > Control > Control Data > TB Control tab > change the sign in Reporting Currency > OK

Note: There is no fix at master pack level, each client which displays the wrong sign will need to be updated accordingly.
