Freezing of indexation allowance for Companies

A client can be designated as a company by selecting Edit Client > Details and ticking Company for CGT purposes. The CGT calculation for companies allows indexation on the cost of assets disposed, but this was ended at 31/12/2017. This release allows for the freezing of indexation:

• No indexation will be calculated when there is an operative event on chargeable assets acquired after 31 December 2017.
• For assets acquired before 1 January 2018, indexation based on the RPI for December 2017 will be calculated at the date of the first operative event for an asset after 31 December 2017.
• The change only applies to types of shares that are held by companies where gains are reduced by indexation.
