Relief claimed on redemption of bonus shares

The Redemption of bonus shares or securities is known as a Qualifying Distribution. This arises when a company passes value to it's shareholders, for example, by paying dividends. If you receive bonus shares or securities then you should complete the Relief claimed on redemption of bonus shares tab.

Completing the Relief Claimed on Redemption of Bonus Shares tab  

  1. Open the Relief Claimed on Redemption of Bonus Shares section.

  2. Click in the Company name row and enter or select the name of the share issuing company.

  3. Describe the type of share in Share description, for example ordinary share.

  4. Enter the amount purchased in Quantity.

  5. Complete the following:

  • Redemption date - This date must be within the current tax year.

  • Relief claimed - Enter the amount of tax relief claimed.

  1. Click Save and Close.
