Allocating a Stage to an employee category
When you add a Stage to a Schedule, the employee category defaults to -UNSPECIFIED-.
You can keep the default setting or for better control over resourcing and reporting, allocate the stage to a specific employee category.
If you allocate the stage to:

-UNSPECIFIED- it means that no specific person is assigned to complete the work. As a result, any employee can create a Timesheet against the Stage and Tasks.
This is the system default and if your practice maintains this setting, there is no need to complete the steps below.

a specific employee category — an example might be, Manager or Administration, it means that no one but an employee in the category selected can create a Timesheet against the Stage and Tasks.
Follow the steps below to allocate the stage to an employee category.

Click the Schedule tab on the Assignment Details page.
The Schedule tab appears. -
Select the Schedule from the drop down list (located under the tab labelled Schedule).
The Schedule list appears. -
Click the expand button against the stage you want.
The stage expands to show the Employee Category details. -
Click the default -UNSPECIFIED-.
A drop-down button appears. -
Click the drop-down button.

Select the employee category from the drop-down description list.

Repeat steps 4 to 7 for each stage.
