Employment

 

Click on Employment from the left panel or from the Self Assessment screen (you can also click Edit/View in the Self Assessment screen).

Add Employment

  • To add the employment data source, click on +Add data in the Self Assessment screen; or you can also click on the on the left panel.
  • Select the Employment data source from the list by ticking the box.
  • Type in the name of the employer and click +Add selected.

  • On the employment page, type in the PAYE tax reference of your employer.

Employment Income

To add employment income and details, scroll to the Employment Income section.

  1. (Optional) If the client is a director, then click 'Was the taxpayer a company director?'.
  2. (Optional) If employment commenced during the current tax year, then enter the date in employment start date.
  3. (Optional) If employment ceased during the current tax year, then enter the last working day in employment ceased date
  4. Enter the payment and UK tax taken off.
  5. Add tips and other payments. Do not include expenses as these are entered on the Benefits and Expenses sections.
  6. If you do not want to print the employment page, tick 'Do not print the employment page'.

Benefits: To add benefits scroll down to the 'Benefits from your employment' section. Enter the values in the relevant boxes.

Expenses: To add expenses scroll down to the 'Employment Expenses' section. Enter the values in the relevant boxes.

Student and Postgraduate loan repayments:
To add student and postgraduate loan payments, scroll down to the 'Student and Postgraduate loan repayments'. Enter the values in the relevant boxes.

Lump Sum Payments: For lump sums scroll down to the 'Lump Sum Payments' section and enter the values in the relevant boxes.
