About the Southern User Group

The SUG brings together Wolters Kluwer customers from across the region to connect, share knowledge and shape best practice. It provides a collaborative forum where firms can stay informed, learn from peers and engage directly with Wolters Kluwer and invited experts.

History and leadership

Wolters Kluwer User Groups are run exclusively by their customers, and the SUG is no exception. The group is led by and for Wolters Kluwer customers, ensuring that meetings, discussions and priorities are shaped by real-world experience and the needs of member firms.

In 2026, the group enters a new chapter under the leadership of its newly appointed co-chairs: Victoria Pearson, Accountant and Caroline Goodsell, Office Manager, both from Perrys Accountants. Together, they bring fresh perspective and a shared commitment to maintaining a collaborative, inclusive and member-led community.

Our purpose

The SUG exists to encourage collaboration between Wolters Kluwer, its customers and member firms.

While Wolters Kluwer regularly contributes product insight and updates, the group also welcomes a wide range of guest speakers. These may include representatives from HMRC, Companies House, and specialist practitioners, focusing on the most relevant and topical issues facing accountancy firms.

Members are actively encouraged to contribute to the agenda and may volunteer to speak on topics where they have experience or insight to share.

Topics vary from meeting to meeting and are shaped by member input. Suggested discussion areas include:

  • Tax and accounting legislation
  • Practice management and operational efficiency
  • Human resources and people management
  • Marketing and business development
  • Other topics critical to building and sustaining a successful accountancy practice

What to expect from SUG meetings

The SUG is open to all Wolters Kluwer customers. Member firms represent a wide range of practice sizes and software experience, and attendees typically include both partners and hands-on users.

Meetings are designed to be practical, informative and interactive. Wolters Kluwer representatives attend to share product updates and demonstrations, alongside open Q&A sessions that encourage discussion and feedback.

The group meets twice a year, usually in April and November, giving members the opportunity to:

  • Stay up to date with new and existing Wolters Kluwer software
  • Learn how other firms are using their systems in practice
  • Share ideas and best practice for day-to-day operations
  • Build relationships with peers across the profession

To complement in-person meetings, the group is also exploring virtual breakout sessions held on Microsoft Teams throughout the year. These sessions will create additional opportunities for members to exchange ideas, collaborate and share practical solutions in a more informal setting.
