GDPR

In order to protect the personal data of individuals and customers in the European Union and to keep track of ever-changing technology, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) enters into force on 25 May 2018.

GDPR affects every organization that stores or processes personal data of individuals in the European Union. The purpose of GDPR is to strengthen the rights of individuals to their personal data and creates a harmonized standard for the protection of personal data.

As a trusted partner for professionals, Wolters Kluwer want its customers to be confident that their personal data is protected. In accordance with Wolters Kluwer's company values and business principles, data privacy is at the heart of our GDPR approach. Wolters Kluwer fully understand the importance of data privacy standards for our customers and we recognize the obligations that apply to the management, storage and processing of personal data. At Wolters Kluwer we are committed to protecting the personal data of our customers. We fulfill this promise by making an effort to keep information safe and respect the rights of individuals. The good news for our customers is that our software is already fully able to meet your needs under GDPR.

In our 2018.1 and 2018.2 CCH Central suite releases, functionality has been added to enable you to:

  • Record and manage consents;
  • Provide information for access requests;
  • Reporting on personal data;
  • Extract data for the right to data portability; and
  • Keep an extended Audit trail.

Additionally, we recently launched a new online solution CCH GDPR Compliance: a simple and cost-effective way of achieving and maintaining compliance and training staff. CCH GDPR Compliance is a solution that can be used for your own business or can even be recommended to your customers to assist them in being compliant. Using it, you can:

  • Simplify the process of achieving and demonstrating compliance with simple checklists and workflows;
  • Reduce the risk of non-compliance and heavy penalties;
  • Train your staff to understand and apply GDPR policies and procedures;
  • Get a package tailored to your needs; and
  • As well as using the system, you can provide it to your clients to help them comply (or run it as a service on their behalf).

We offer generous discounts to help you create a valuable revenue stream. Please contact us via : 0344 561 8181#3 or cchsoftware@wolterskluwer.com.

To help you meet your GDPR compliance needs, we publish here a new Data Processing Addendum (DPA) which demonstrates that personal data is being processed in a way that meets your GDPR compliance obligation. The DPA, which is available for all current Wolters Kluwer (UK) Limited and Wolters Kluwer (Ireland) Limited business customers, is a self-serve and easy-to-execute document that only require signature on page 10 with a copy returned to data-administration@wolterskluwer.com.

With the Wolters Kluwer Corporate Privacy Office we are fully involved in a cross-functional GDPR program. We evaluate data processes (policies, standards and documentation) and practices throughout our company and implement changes to further enhance the protection of personal data. We train our employees on their responsibilities and new ways of working in connection with GDPR; we work with third parties and suppliers to ensure compliance; and we assess customer contracts and work with our customers to support them.
