Creation of a Test solution
Note: In the absence of a dedicated test phase, the actions typically associated with such a phase will be consolidated into a single “go-live” project, whereby all tasks are executed collectively. It is crucial to confirm the feasibility of this approach early in our project discussions, should it be deemed necessary.
The creation of a test solution would entail the following :-
• A complete build of all CCH software and data into your new environment to support testing.
o Excluding CCH One Click which cannot exist in a test mode.
o Excluding CCH iFirm which cannot exist in a test mode.
In preparing to build your test solution-:
• Data availability will be the primary concern to allow the build to proceed.
• It should be decided who will take ownership of the task to deliver data to the test platform in readiness for restore.
The test solution will-:
• Install and configure the SQL software alongside associated data.
• Install and configure CCH software and services.
• Rollout test end user access.
Feedback from your test group should be collected, this can then be assessed into the following categories:
- Environment change required, this would typically encapsultate operating system, regional or other settings outside of the CCH software itself.
- Issue caused by test phase configuration, such as One Click not available or full data synchronisation not completed for file shares.
- Issue requires redress during test to allow test to continue.
- Issue will be resolved at go-live.
