Your Server Specification

The appropriate selection of server specifications is crucial to the success of your installation and the ongoing performance of your software and systems for your end user group.

We can provide guidance on the specifications and architecture you may consider for your build, which we categorise into 'user bandings', as detailed below.

These bandings and specifications are primarily centred on the functionality and support of the full CCH Suite.  Consequently, they do not necessarily account for any additional workload you may wish to accommodate for third-party tools. The introduction of additional software or the utilisation of your server(s) for extra workloads should be approached with careful consideration and ongoing monitoring.

Band 1: User count < 100
Band 2:  User count < 250
Band 3:  User count < 500
Band 4:  User count < 1000
Band 5: User count < 1200
Band 6:  User count < 1500
Band 7: User count < 3000

Each banding takes into account the provision of multiple servers to support applications and services, evaluates the edition of Microsoft SQL you may require, and also suggests requirements for specialised personnel to manage your system.

Note: All server specifications are subject to change as we operate in a dynamic environment where hardware vendors and platforms frequently revise their offerings. The specifications listed within the bands below should serve as a guide and be adapted to meet your specific requirements, balanced against current availability from your supplier.
