Setting Up OAuth2 in KS for Microsoft 365

Starting with V10.5.1, customers must supply their own Client ID and Client Secret in the app settings when adding a new Office 365 email with OAuth2 as an email type.

Please note: All OAuth2 Emails entered in version 10.5 will stop working and MUST be reconnected.

For New Email Addresses

The procedure involves adjusting settings in Azure AD and KS.

Please note: Users must have admin access to both platforms to set up email services for OAuth2 in KnowledgeSync.

For Existing OAuth2 Email Addresses

For existing OAuth2 email addresses, test the connection to confirm the address still works.
• Go to Admin > Services > Email Accounts.
• Click the edit button next to the email address to test.
• Click the Test Connection button and then click the Reconnect button:

For Existing SMTP Email Addresses

Emails entered in version 10.5 or earlier can be updated from SMTP to OAuth2 for email type. Follow the first two sections of the procedure as outlined in the Advanced OAuth2 Email Configuration for OnPrem documentation.
• For the final steps, go to Admin > Services > Email Accounts.
• For Email Type, select OAUTH2:

• Click the Test Connection button to confirm the changes are successful.

Ignore Response Code Option Added for Web APIs

In the Web API Designer module, a new checkbox to Ignore Response Code has been added to the Definition tab. KnowledgeSync is coded to only accept 201,202 or 204 HTTP response codes. If any other code is sent, KS throws an InvalidWebAPIResponseException. This prevents users from being able to use Web API’s that use path parameters as part of the URL; for example, a single '404 not found' message breaks the event. By checking this new box, KS will ignore the incoming response code.
