Attaching workflows

All workflows can be set to start automatically; the manual method of starting a workflow shown below may not be necessary.

A workflow will always be attached to something in Central. What this is, depends on the type of the workflow:

  • Client/Contact workflows attached to a client or contact, and are started from the "Workflow" tab of the client or contact. Click the "Start" button on the ribbon bar. More info
  • Assignment Jobs workflows attach to a job and are started from the "Assignment" tab of the client. Right click on the job and select "Start Workflow". More info
  • Document workflows attach to a specific document. They can be started from the "Add" or "Create" document screens.
  • Personal Tax workflows attach to a tax return. They can be started from the tax return summary screen by clicking on the "Start" button on the ribbon bar.
  • Corporation Tax workflows attach to a tax return. They can be started from the tax return screen by clicking on the "Start" button on the ribbon bar.
  • Accounts Production workflows attach to a set of accounts. They can be started from the set of accounts by clicking on the "Start" button on the ribbon bar.
  • Practice Management workflows attach to a bill, once it has been posted. These workflows will be started automatically.
