Tax Notes
Note Types
You can create unformatted notes using the following note types:
- Disclosure Note
- Working note
- Reason for estimated figures
When you create a note you have a choice of three different note types:
- Tax Return Disclosure note: Text under this type appears in the Additional Information section on the tax return.
- Explanation of estimated values: Text under this type appears in the Additional Information section on the tax return.
- Working note: Text under this type will not appear on the tax return.
A notes icon appears under Tax Return Data beside the tax return sections that contain notes. This is illustrated in the following example.
Open Notes
Click the notes icon on the row you want to add the note to. The Notes window appears.
To create a General Note, click either the Note icon or click the
hyperlink in the Status panel. The Summary Notes window appears.
Add Notes

Click below the notepad symbol
at the end of the data entry line if the note relates to that particular source of income. Alternatively click on the
hyperlink at the bottom of the screen to include a note that is not attached to a particular source:

Click Add and then select one of the following note types:

Add a disclosure note

Add a working note

Add reason for estimated figures

The Edit note window appears.

Click in the area entitled Click here to enter your note. Type your text then click Close to save.
Note:
Disclosure notes and reason for estimated figures will both appear on the tax return. Working notes will not appear on the tax return.
Edit Notes

Open the relevant note. All notes relating to the tax return appear.

Select the note you want to edit, and then click Edit. Your existing note opens in the Edit note window.

Make you amendments then click Close to save.
Delete Notes
- Open the relevant note. All notes relating to the tax return appear.
- Select the note that you want to delete, and then click Delete.
- You are asked to confirm deletion.
- Click Yes.
Caution! You should delete notes with care as you cannot recover them.
