Getting Started with CCH iFirm AML
The CCH iFirm AML process
Setting up CCH iFirm AML users in Organisation Management
All employees who require access to CCH iFirm AML must first be invited by your Organisation’s CCH iFirm admin user via Organisation Management using the same email address recorded against the employee record in CCH Central. If you require more information about how Organisation Management works in CCH iFirm, please click here above hyperlink.
Important Note: the employee email address must not contain a space between the first and last name.
If you are accessing iFirm via the CCH iFirm AML button within a client in CCH Central the following screenshot will display once you have accessed iFirm by entering your email and password. This will be the email and password for your Wolters Kluwer account. Exit this screen as you do not want to start an AML check at this point. If you are already in CCH iFirm then please ignore the next two screenshots.
Select your profile and then click [Manage Organisation]
Assuming you are already in the Home screen of CCH iFirm then Organisation Management can also be accessed from [Manage my Organisation] button below under My Services
The overview section in left hand panel should now be highlighted and either the existing members box or inviting new members can be selected.
If following screen displays click [Start Walkthrough]
Having selected a member you can choose the grant or revoke access to products
If a new member is being set up their details will need to be entered and you will need to decide whether their role is regular member or administrator.
Then select the [Product Access] button and mark which products they are being given access to.
The [Invite Message] shows the message the new member will receive by email
The products section will show the logged in user which products they are subscribed to.
Once a user is subscribed to CCH iFirm AML via organisation management, they also need to be given the correct access for AML in Central. (please see Setting up users section below)
Setting up users to access AML in CCH Central
Important!
Users must have CCH Central 2024.120 service pack or later, as well as the .Net 6 runtime installed.
These applications are essential for CCH iFirm and must be installed on the SQL Server and all Workstations where CCH Central is run from.
There are 3 files which need to be installed:
.NET Runtime 6.0
ASP.NET Core 6.0
WebView2 Runtime
We always recommend using the latest version of the Central Suite Installer (CSI) and any corresponding service packs to get the latest functionality
Click here for full .NET 6, .ASP and WebView2 Runtime installation instructions.
Access to clients/contacts
In order to run an AML check, first you will have to login to CCH Central as a superuser, in order to give permission for the users in your firm to see the 'CCH iFirm AML' options for both contacts and clients within CCH Central.
Navigate to File > Maintenance > Security > Task permissions. Here, choose CCH Central as the product and then chose a group that you would like to have access to CCH iFirm AML. Search 'AML' and tick both boxes for Contacts and Clients and click 'OK'.
Users under that group and Superusers in the firm will now be able to see the option to run CCH iFirm AML under tasks when viewing a client or contact.
To enable users to view a PDF of AML Checks in the Document Centre a superuser will need to check the following three settings.
Library and Types
In CCH Central go to File > Maintenance > Document Management > Library and Types. Then select Client from the Library drop-down.
If the AML report displays on the left panel under the heading 'Types not in Library' then using the highlighted arrow in screenshot below move it to right hand panel under heading 'Types in library'.
Document Types
In CCH Central, go to File > Maintenance > Document Management > Document Types. Ensure the AML report is ticked as enabled.
Document Security
In CCH Central, go to File > Maintenance > Security > Document Security > Library. Then select Client from the library drop-down. Pick a security group that the user is a member of (e.g. AP Admin) and ensure that for the AML Report the Add and View checkboxes are ticked.
Viewing CCH iFirm AML + Biometric KYC reports in the Document Centre
In order to view the PDF Report of AML + Biometric KYC reports in the client Document Centre, the iFirm_AMLBioLicenceCheck configuration key must be set to '1' via File > Maintenance > User Defined > Configuration
Use of a VPN for AML Biometric Testing
It is the expected behaviour that a client would fail the “Location” check if they are using a VPN, either through WI-FI or mobile data.
