Backdated changes to Investment entries
It is possible to amend any investment transaction retrospectively, or even delete transactions entirely. When such changes occur, the application recalculates and adjust the profits and losses on all subsequent disposals and adjust the ledger balances accordingly.
However, there are some transaction types which contain information based on the situation as it existed at the time of entry of the transaction and these are not adjusted automatically for subsequent backdated alterations.
Examples are rights and bonus issues. The units acquired at the time a bonus issue or purchase of rights was first entered or the holding and market value at the time rights were sold, are held in the entry and are not adjusted automatically. For this reason, these entries may need to be edited, or deleted and re-entered, after making any backdated acquisitions or disposals.
