The client type is changed, but not saved and re-opening the client will show that it has reverted to the original client type.
This problem is caused by the client having tax returns present. If none of these returns have been submitted to HMRC:
- Delete the tax returns.
- Close the client
- Re-open the client
- Change the client type
If a tax return has already been submitted from the client, the above procedure is not advisable. In these circumstances a new client will need to be created with the desired type.
