This option is accessed via File > Maintenance > CGT and Dividend Scheduling > Settings.

Alternative Descriptions Editor

Purchases and Sales have a field called Alt. Description. This can be entered with the entry or selected from a dropdown. Every time a new description is entered in Purchases and Sales, it is added to the dropdown list the next time you enter a Purchase or Sale. This means the list of descriptions can become long and may contain spelling mistakes.

The Alternative Descriptions Editor allows these descriptions to be edited. Descriptions can be added, edited or deleted. Each description has a Category field which specifies whether it applies to Purchases or Sales. If it needs to apply to both, then two Alternative Descriptions are required. To delete an Alternative Description, highlight the entry and press the Delete key.

Investment Schedule Report Selection

Use this screen to determine which columns you would like to include in the Investment Schedule. There is an option to change the font size as if you include a large number of columns you may find several columns being truncated.

Save Final Reports

You can elect to save the PDF report each time a case is processed in Final format.

Save Realised Gains Reports

You can elect to save the PDF report each time a case is processed in Final format. This will be a separate copy of the Realised Gains report that you might want to submit electronically, accompanying the Capital Gains Return pages.

Font style for reports This is the font used for reports. The default is Times New Roman as used in Personal Tax.
Print Date in report headers If this is set to True then today's date is printed in the top right of reports.

Proper Case Exclusion Editor

Security descriptions in CGT and Dividend Scheduling are all in upper case as this is the format in our data feeds. When transferring descriptions into Personal Tax they are converted from upper to title case. However there are a number of company names that are excluded from the process e.g. BP, HBOS and ITV. This editor can be used to add new exclusions.

Report Selection Defaults

These default settings are what you will see when you create a new portfolio. Once a portfolio period has been processed the application will offer the previous choices the next time the portfolio period is processed.
