The Associated tab on the Suppliers window is where you can view and create relationships between suppliers and contacts in your database. From here you can create a link from the selected supplier to an existing contact, or create a new contact as you define the relationship.
To add an association to a new contact:
On the main toolbar click the Suppliers button .
The Find Suppliers page is displayed.
In the Search for field, type in the name (or part of the name) of the record you want to search for.
Click Search or press the [Enter] key.
The records that match your search criteria are listed in the window.
Double-click the record you want to add an association to.
The Supplier page for the selected record is displayed.
Click the Associated tab.
Click the Add New button to add a link to a new contact.
The Associate New Contact window appears.
In the list of available relationships, click the relationship that applies to the contact you want to associate the supplier with.
The selected relationship is displayed in the Relationship field.
Enter the name details in the Title, First and Last fields.
Select the Organisation check box if the contact is not an individual.
The new association is listed in the Associated tab. Click the adjacent plus sign icon to view the relationship.
If you use the Add New button to create a new contact to be an association, the new contact will be added to the system. You can then click their name in the Associated tab, or search for them and fill in the details in their Contact page as you would with any other contact. You can then convert the new contact into a client or supplier if required.
