Importing Timesheets

Timesheet Import
A new feature has been added to enable employees to import Timesheets from an Excel spreadsheet (similar to importing Expenses and Disbursements). The import routine uses the employee's standard charge rate.
Task Permission
A new Task Permission has also been added to allow firms to select which employees this is applicable for.
Product: VPM
Group Description - Other: #Timesheets #Can Import Timesheet
Spreadsheet
CCH Prosystem >Deploy > PM Templates includes an "Import Timesheet Template.xlsx" (with sample entries). It is recommended that each employee who plans to use the Import Timesheet option keep a copy of the timesheet template.
In keeping with the Expenses and Disbursement templates, comments have been added to the heading to aid in the input process.

The following fields are required to be used within the timesheet template:
- Client Code
- Name of assignment (note: The name must match the name of the assignment template from which it was added)
- Job/schedule (note: This is NOT a mandatory field)
- The task name
- Number of hours (or part thereof)
Importing a Timesheet
Navigate to the homepages, and select the Timesheets drop-down from the ribbon.

Click Import Timesheet, and the Timesheet Import grid is shown.

Employees: Browse to select the relevant employee's timesheet.

Units: Currently, only Hours is supported
Browse Excel files: Browse to the location of the saved timesheet
The grid will then load with the entries from the spreadsheet.
Invalid Entries
Any incorrect entries are shown in red within the import grid and cannot be imported.

Employees can do either of the following:
- Cancel the import and correct the spreadsheet
- Only select the correct items.
Importing
After the records have been selected, click the Import button.

The following message is shown:

Click Yes to continue with the import. A confirmation message is shown once the import has completed.

Known Issue
Currently, there is an issue with not identifying incorrect tasks, which will stop the import from proceeding. Please ensure that all Tasks entered within the spreadsheet exist with CCH Central and are spelt correctly prior to performing the import.
This issue is aiming to be resolved by the next release.
Settings option
