CCH OneClick - Product FAQs
Are there any URLs that I should whitelist to be able to access CCH OneClick?

Yes. The first one is your CCH OneClick domain ending in accountantspace.co.uk The second is https://prodsyncworker.blob.core.windows.net. This allows us to support you as it is used for our logging for the SyncWorker (this connects CCH Central & CCH OneClick)

Can you Launch CCH OneClick from within CCH Central?

Yes, within CCH Accounts Production, you can click a button that opens a client in CCH OneClick, which avoids having to launch CCH OneClick seperately and then search for the client.

There are a couple of entry points into CCH OneClick from CCH Central. Firstly there is the homepage / tab that created for access to the Subscriber's workspace. This can be configured and switched off by the user if required. Also it can be switched back on via a ribbon bar button.

In CCH Accounts Production there is a link direct to the client in 'Open Integration' setup in CCH OneClick.

How does the data flow between Cloud Accounting Systems (e.g. Xero), CCH Central, CCH OneClick and HMRC?

Open integration serves…

  • Accounts production (transactional – trial balance)
  • Quarterly reporting (summary)
  • HMRC APIs – pre-population
What do we need to do internally to get it to talk to our systems?

We will look to assign a consultant to you to help you on-board CCH OneClick, connect it with your existing CCH Central implementation and very importantly configure the different features for your practice.

We have decided to stop supporting our current native mobile applications (Practice Mobile and Digital Data Request). Instead, we will focus attention on making our online applications Progressive Web Applications.

What is the future for CCH OneClick Mobile Applications?

Since we launched CCH OneClick in 2018, we have worked continuously to improve our offering; with the aim of staying at the forefront of the latest technology and to ensure that our customers get the very best out of our products. To this end we have made several performance and security improvements to our products, together with the top requested features across our customer base, including our new multi factor enabled authentication system (MFA).

As a result of these developments we have decided to stop supporting our current native mobile applications (Practice Mobile and Digital Data Request). Instead, we will focus attention on making our online applications Progressive Web Applications (see more below). Although we will no longer be supporting or further developing the Practice Mobile and Digital Data Request native applications, they will still be available for the time being in the App Store and Play Store for those who wish to use them. In addition, CCH OneClick is accessible using a mobile phone; with all mobile-compatible products available. This includes complete access to Messages & Documents for both the client and the advisor.

Progressive Web Applications

Progressive Web Applications are fast becoming recognised as the future of mobile application development. These applications allow mobile responsive websites to be accessed and viewed on a mobile phone in a way that could not differentiate them from a mobile app.

They allow features such as:
• Full screen view (with no web address bar)
• Bookmarking on phones for quick access
• Push notifications
• Offline access

Most household names in the technology industry such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter have "lite" versions of their native mobile apps available in the Play Store as faster and lighter Progressive Web App alternatives. Progressive Web Apps are also available to be installed directly from a browser without the need to access a "Store".

However, it is not just social networks that are using Progressive Web Applications. Industry publications such as AccountancyAge have written about the future of mobile development through PWAs, stating:

"So let's put the myth to rest: while mobile apps may seem like the better option at first glance, when we evaluate the benefits of web-based applications, we see that they actually make more business sense."

Progressive Web Applications will allow us to deliver all the latest features to both the practice and their clients quickly in a way that is compatible with all mobile devices and operating systems.
