Getting Started with CCH iFirm Accounts Production

 

This section shows how to grant users access to CCH iFirm Accounts Production.

Get Started (via CCH Central) using CCH iFirm Accounts Production

Prerequisites  

  • Must have the Latest version of CCH Central installed 
  • Your practice has subscribed to CCH iFirm Accounts Production
  • In CCH Central, a new task permission #Client#launchiFirmAP and #Client#MigrateiFirmAP has been created to allow firms to select which employees can access CCH iFirm Accounts Production
    Note: Without this permission you won't be able to launch CCH iFirm Accounts Production
  • .Net 8.0 runtime installed (This is available via our CSI installer > Tools Install)
  • Ensure that the 'CCH iFirm Console' Central service is running and signed in 
  • Ensure the user can access CCHiFirm

Please note: 

Ensure that the 'CCH iFirm Console' service is running before creating tax return. The CCH iFirm console allows firms to authenticate and monitor the syncing of edited Contact and Client records from CCH Central to CCH iFirm.

Users must have Latest version of CCH Central installed and .Net runtime version 8.
These applications are essential for CCH iFirm and must be installed on the SQL Server and all Workstations wherever CCH Central is run from.

All empolyees require permission to access CCH iFirm Accounts Production in CCH Central > Task Permission and CCH iFirm.  

 

Create a new accounting period in CCH iFirm Accounts Production via a migration routine in Central 

Find and open the client you would like to migrate to CCH iFirm Accounts Production in CCH Central. ( Note: the matster pack that can be migrated are unincorrprate. FRS102 and FRS105. )

  1. Click on the CCH iFirm Accounts Production  in the ribbons.

  2. You will be presented with an Information box asking if you wish to migrate the client to iFirm Accounts Production.  Click Yes to continue.

    The status message will show you that the client is being exported.

    Once completed you will see an acknowledgement message, click OK, a further message will appear with the Migration status, click OK
    You are now ready to work on this client in CCH iFirm Accounts Production.

    Note: Once the data has been migrated the accounting period in the on-premise client will be Finalised, you will see ticks in the Finalised box(es) and in the CCH iFirm box(es) for the periods migrated.  In addition, on your Accounts Production Home Page a blue star will indicate that the client's accounting data has been migrated to CCH iFirm.

 

 

 

Appendix

 

Setting up CCH iFirm Accounts Production users in Organisation Management

All employees who require access to CCH iFirm AML must first be invited by your Organisation's CCH iFirm admin user via organisation management using the same email address recorded against the employee record in CCH Central. If you require more information about how Organisation Management works in CCH iFirm, please click here above hyperlink.

Important Note:  the employee email address must not contain a space between the first and last name.

Assuming you are already in the Home screen of CCH iFirm then Organisation Management can also be accessed from the [Manage my Organisation] button under My Services

The overview section in left hand panel should now be highlighted and either the existing Members box or Invites to new members can be selected.

If following screen displays, click [Start Walkthrough]

Having selected a member, you can choose to Grant Access or Revoke Access to products

If a new member is being set up, their details will need to be entered and you will need to decide whether their role is Regular member or Administrator.

Then select the [Product Access] button and mark which products they are being given access to.

The [Invite Message] shows the message the new member will receive by email

The products section will show the logged in user which products they are subscribed to.

Once a user is subscribed to CCH iFirm Accounts Production via organisation management, they also need to be given the correct access for CCH iFirm Accounts Production in CCH Central. 

Setting up users to access CCH iFirm Accounts Production in CCH Central

Important!

 

Ensure that the 'CCH iFirm Console' service is running before migrating data to CCH iFirm. The CCH iFirm console allows firms to authenticate and monitor the syncing of edited Contact and Client records from CCH Central to CCH iFirm.

Users must have CCH Central 2025.1 Service Pack or later and .Net 8 runtime 
These applications are essential for CCH iFirm and must be installed on the SQL Server and all Workstationswhere CCH Central is run from.

There are 3 files which need to be installed:

.NET Runtime
ASP.NET Core
WebView2 Runtime


We always recommend using the latest version of the Central Suite Installer (CSI) and any corresponding Service Packs to remain up-to-date with the latest functionality.

Enable CCH iFirm Accounts Production and Mirgraiton

irst you will have to login to CCH Central as a superuser

Navigate to File > Maintenance > Security > Task permissions. Here, choose CCH Accounts Production as the product and then chose a group that you would like to have access to CCH iFirm iFirm. Search 'iFirmAP' and tick both boxes for #Client#launchiFirmAP and #Client#MigrateiFirmAP and click 'OK'.
